The RODE VideoMic is a lightweight, highly directional, professional-grade condenser microphone. It is specifically designed for video cameras. The microphone is attached to the camera via a foot that is located on top of the camcorder. The special directional characteristic of the microphone ensures that sound is captured in front of the camera and ambient noise is sufficiently suppressed. The suspension system eliminates noise caused by hand movements and camera shake. Durable wind protection ensures that good sound quality is achieved even in outdoor conditions. The VideoMic is designed to require only a 9V battery for operation. The current draw of the microphone is approximately 5 mA, so a 9V alkaline battery will last in the microphone for about 100 hours of active operation.
