Oscar Schmidt OD312 twelve-string acoustic guitars are more affordable dreadnought-type instruments. The large open sound of the twelve strings naturally enhances the resonance of the guitar's large body.
The instrument's layered body is composed of a spruce plywood top and a back and sides made of plywood mahogany. A fingerboard made of modern composite material is glued to the mahogany neck, which is attached to the body at the fourteenth fret as standard. Orientation on its surface is traditionally facilitated by position markers. The strings are mounted in die-cast chrome mechanics.
