This guitar represents one of the specific forms of Ibanez acoustic guitars. The Talman has the advantages of an electroacoustic instrument and at the same time tries to approach the comfort of playing electric instruments, hence the cutouts above and below the neck. The laminated body of the instrument is made of sapele. A purpleheart (amaranth) fingerboard with 20 frets is glued to the okoumé neck. The appearance of the body is embellished with a bright rosette and ivory imitation trim.

The strings are held in chrome Die-Cast tuners and purpleheart fingerboard with Ibanez Advantage pegs, which are easier to handle than standard models. In addition, the string and pegs hold the string firmly in the optimal position, i.e. there is no loosening of the pegs as the string tension increases. The guitar's peg is shaped to optimally transmit the vibrations of the string to achieve the best possible sound.

The sound amplification is provided by an Ibanez AEQ-2T preamp with built-in tuner and a piezo pickup underneath.
