The AAD100-OPN acoustic guitar's front plate is made of solid Sitka spruce, while the back plate and sides are made of plywood okoumé. A 20-fret ovangkol fingerboard is glued to the exotic nyatoh neck. The Thermo Aged neck process gives the wood greater stability and better resonance, which is also supported by the modified X-M ribbing (optimally transmitting string vibrations throughout the body). Smooth movement of the hand on the fingerboard and good follow-through are guaranteed by the Low Oval Grip neck profile and rounded fingerboard edges.
The strings are anchored via a plastic zero fret and saddle in chrome Die-Cast mechanisms with an 18:1 gear ratio and an ovangkol fingerboard. The Ibanez Advantage's pegs offer the advantages of easy handling and firm string attachment over standard models. The stylish look of the instrument is accentuated by traditional elements in the form of a wooden rosette and an imitation tortoiseshell pickguard.
