The body of the G9200 Boxcar is made of laminated mahogany. The essential element of all Gretsch resonators, the Ampli-Sonic aluminium resonator itself, gives the guitars impressive sound quality and volume. Glued to the mahogany neck with a soft "V" profile is an exotic padauk fingerboard fitted with nineteen Medium Jumbo frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by white position dots.
The strings are mounted in Grover tuning machines, a maple spider-type fingerboard and a Weathered Trapeze Tailpiece. The stylish look is accentuated by the body and neck finish in the form of semi-gloss lacquer and chrome hardware.
Now all that's left to do is leave work and jump on the first train, accompanied by a resonator whose sound tells stories like raindrops falling on the roof of station buildings.
