The A12 Black HG's 12-string body is constructed from solid chambered silver-leaf maple and a solid cedar soundboard. Glued to the maple neck is a fingerboard made of modern richlite composite material fitted with twenty-two frets. The all-mass construction, distinctly narrower body profile, "player-friendly" maple neck shape and naturally resonating cedar top are the reasons why these guitars have been popular for years among pro musicians with busy concert schedules.
Sound pickup is handled by a sub-cubic piezo pickup and a specially developed Godin preamplifier with controls (volume, three-band EQ) subtly built in to keep them as close at hand as possible without limiting musicians' playing. The strings are mounted over a Graphtech zero fret in closed tuning machines with a gear ratio of 18:1 (Bass Side) and 26:1 (Treble Side) and a richlite fingerboard. The guitar's stylish look is accentuated by a gloss black finish.
The instrument comes in a gig bag.
