G&L USA Fullerton Deluxe Skyhawk - 3-Tone Sunburst

The Skyhawk electric guitar features the original G&L double-cut design from 1984. The body of the USA Fullerton Deluxe Skyhawk 3-Tone Sunburst is made of alder. A rosewood fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Medium Jumbo nickel frets is glued to a bolted maple neck with a "Modern Classic" profile. Position dots on the fingerboard facilitate orientation.
Three single-coil MFD (Magnetic Field Design) pickups with ceramic magnets and adjustable pole extensions allow the pickup output to be adjusted for each string separately. The pickups separately and in combination offer a wide range of tones - from the warm roundness of jazz to the characteristic punch of singles. The character of the sound can be adjusted using the volume potentiometer, two tone controls (Passive Treble and Bass), a five-position pickup switch and the Expander mini switch, which expands the guitar's sonic arsenal to include pickup configurations of tailpiece + neck and all three pickups simultaneously.
The strings are anchored in 12:1 ratio tuning machines and Dual Fulcrum vibrato with brass saddles and two-point mounting. The nice workmanship is accentuated by the GL headstock design, four-layer imitation tortoiseshell pickguard and chrome control plate.
The guitar comes in a gig bag.
The G&L brand was founded in the late 70s and early 80s by Leo Fender, George Fullerton and Dale Hyatt. The design of electric guitars and basses with the G&L logo is a hint of what other world-famous brands might have looked like if Leo Fender had not got rid of the brand in the mid-1960s. Moreover, G&L's American-made guitars are still made in Fullerton on Fender Avenue, so they offer a piece of guitar history alongside stylish design and great sound.
