MB 115 II
The MB model series represents an innovation among Gallien-Krueger MicroBass instruments. These are combos that are unique because of their light weight, small size and at the same time enough power and sound quality. This makes them perfect for bassists who are looking for a machine to play with a band and also require some mobility. The second generation of these machines offers several improvements that make these popular combos even better.
Specifically, the MB 115 is a machine that features a 200 watt digital amplifier, from which the signal goes to a 15 inch speaker that is complete with a switchable top. Of course, it has a level-switchable input for active and passive instruments, a headphone output, an aux-in and an XLR DI-Out.
These elements, as well as the controls, are located on the top panel. To adjust the sound, there is first a Gain control followed by a 4-band EQ consisting of Treble, Hi-Mid, Lo-Mid and Bass potentiometers. The last potentiometers are Boost, which works as a post-EQ gain and Master to adjust the overall volume. The front panel also switches the Contour and Limiter functions.
Thus, the Gallien Krueger MB 115 is an instrument that proves the saying that there is power in simplicity. This somewhat inconspicuous 37 x 48 x 58 cm instrument offers an incredible number of possibilities.
