The MB model series represents an innovation among Gallien-Krueger MicroBass instruments. These are combos that are unique for their low weight, small size and at the same time sufficiently large power and high quality sound. This makes them perfect for bassists who are looking for a machine to play with a band and also require some mobility. The second generation of these machines offers several improvements that make these popular combos even better.
Specifically, the MB 112 is a machine that features a 200 watt digital amplifier, from which the signal goes to a 12 inch speaker. Of course, it has a level-switchable input for active and passive instruments, a headphone output, an aux-input, an XLR DI-Out, and an output for an external MBP-series active speaker.
These elements, as well as the controls, are located on the top panel. To adjust the sound, there is first a Gain control, followed by a four-band EQ consisting of Treble, Hi-Mid, Lo-Mid and Bass potentiometers. The Contour and Limiter functions are also switched on the front panel.
The Gallien Krueger MB 112 is thus an instrument that proves the adage that there is power in simplicity. This somewhat inconspicuous 37 cm x 38 cm x 43 cm instrument offers an incredible number of possibilities.
