The Fender Squier Classic Vibe '60s Mustang Bass is an affordable instrument suitable for beginners and experienced bassists alike, inspired by the design of 1960s models. This design was first introduced in 1964 and its popularity is evidenced by the fact that it has found its way into the hands of bassists from the Rolling Stones and My Chemical Romance, among others.
The body of the instrument is made of pleasantly light and beautifully resonant poplar. The bolted maple neck with a narrower C profile is joined to a fig wood fingerboard with twenty-two Narrow Tall frets. Players with smaller fingers will appreciate the instrument's shorter 762 mm menza. Orientation on the fingerboard surface is traditionally facilitated by position dots made of imitation mother-of-pearl.

The strings are attached through the body and over a traditional Mustang fingerboard, and on the other side in tuning machines with also period-correct design. The visual aspect of the instrument is suitably complemented by nickel hardware, a three-layer pickguard and the company logo on the typical guitar headstock.
