The Postmodern Strat Journeyman Relic with Closet Classic hardware - ROSEWOOD Aged Natural from the Fender Custom Shop is sure to appeal to vintage guitar lovers and modern players alike thanks to its interesting combination of features.
The narrower chambered "thinline" body of the guitar is made of two pieces of ash. The finish of the Journeyman Relic offers elements of faux patina to match decades of common, rather domestic use. Glued to a maple neck (quartersawn) with a '60s-style Oval "C" profile is a 3A-quality rosewood fingerboard fitted with twenty-one Narrow Tall (6105) frets. The fingerboard radius flattens out towards the body - allowing for both comfortable riffing at the zero fret and comfortable fast playing at higher frets.
Three hand-wound Fender Custom Shop Master Design "Bone-Tone" Strat single-coil pickups give the guitar the clean, lively dynamic sound you rightfully expect from a high-end instrument. The character of the sound can be manipulated using the volume potentiometers, tone shutter and five-position pickup switch. Tone degradation when working with the volume potentiometer is prevented by Vintage Modified #2 circuitry with Tone-Saver Bleed circuitry.
The strings are held in place via a bone fretboard in vintage-style tuning machines and a Custom Shop synchronized tremolo. The stylish finish is accentuated by a four-ply brown shell pickguard.
The guitar comes in a case (Deluxe Hardshell) along with a strap and certificate of authenticity.
