The Cory Wong Stratocaster is the American signature model of guitarist, arranger and producer Cory Wong, known for his collaborations with the American funk pack Vulfpeck and other well-known artists (Ch. Thile, J. Batiste). This is a modified version of Cory's favourite Fender modified exactly to the artist's liking.
The alder body of the Stratocaster is decorated with satin lacquer and Sapphire Blue Transparent finish. The decently scaled ergonomically shaped body, the "Modern D" profile of the maple neck known from the American Ultra series and the rosewood fingerboard with rounded edges offer maximum playing comfort. The radius of the fingerboard flattens towards the body - offering a good touch throughout.
Three signature Cory Wong Clean Machine single-coil pickups from the renowned Seymour Duncan workshops give the guitar an unmistakable Fender Strat feel, as well as a piece of Cory Wong's funky DNA. The character of the sound can be shaped with a volume potentiometer (with treble bleed circuit - it doesn't emphasize bass frequencies when the volume is lowered), two tone controls and a five-position pickup switch. Push/Pull the second tone diaphragm potentiometer to bypass the 5-position switch (automatically adjusting the position of the 4 switches).
The strings are anchored in lockable company tuning machines that greatly speed string changes, and a synchronized tremolo with six saddles. Nice workmanship is accentuated by a four-layer imitation mother-of-pearl pickguard and the company logo on the headstock.
