The instruments from the Dan Smith era are reputed to be of superior quality to previous production from the late 70s and early 80s, which suffered from rushed production and a desire to make a profit on the products in the first place. Dan Smith dramatically increased the quality of production and changed Fender's product line, but the choice of this manager to lead the company came too late; the sale of the brand and the abandonment of the original Fullerton factory was not averted by Smith.
The instrument has a re-pressed fingerboard. The hardware is original. The guitar is in excellent condition! It is being sold with a non-original case in a VAT-protected second-hand case.
