This machine has been built to offer the best possible thick all-tube sound typical of products associated with the Engl brand. Compared to its 60 watt predecessor, the Fireball 100 E635 offers not only more power, but also a darker, deeper midrange tone. And let's face it - this instrument is not going to be the darling of country/western clubs or the favorite of feel-good jazz/blues dreamers. Its qualities will be appreciated mainly by rock carpenters of dense riffs and metal turners.

The Engl Fireball E635 is a 100 watt two-channel all-tube amplifier with four ECC83 (12AX7) tubes in the preamp and four 6L6GC end tubes.

The front panel offers an instrument input with jack connector and two Power and Standby switches. Each of the channels has its own volume control (Master A, Master B) and excitation, i.e. distortion, of the signal (Gain A, Gain B). The character of the sound is adjusted via the three band equalizers (High, Mid, Low) and the Presence potentiometer. The Bottom and Mid Range Boost switches feed the sound with thick bass lows and punchy mids, respectively. Four LEDs, under the Power Tube Monitoring system, act as power indicators for each of the end tubes.

The rear panel of the unit provides 4 and 16 ohm mono outputs and an 8 ohm stereo output for connecting speakers, an effects loop input and output with Balance control, an adjustable Noise gate control and two outputs for connecting footswitches.

The Engl Z-4 footswitch, which is not included, allows switching between channels, adjustable Master A/B mods and switching of the effects loop and Mid Boost function.
