The Mono Synth guitar pedal effect from Electro-Harmonix (EHX) turns your guitar into eleven great-sounding synths - from vintage synth emulations to full-bodied layered surfaces to the fluffy sounds of solo registers. Plus, you don't have to resort to modifying your instrument with special pickups or MIDI implementation to fully enjoy the box. Another definite plus is the simple design and intuitive pedal controls, which will have you mastering the various functions in no time.
The basic selection of the type of synthesizer you'll be working with at the moment is made using the Type rotary control. Setting the other potentiometers determines the ratio of clean to processed signal at the Synth Out output (Dry Vol, Synth Vol) and the degree to which the synth sound is affected by the dynamics of your playing (Sens). The CTRL control can be used to set a key parameter for each of the eleven synth sounds. Each of these sounds has an additional parameter that can be controlled using the expression pedal (not included).
Saving, editing and opening your favourite settings/presets can be done in Preset mode, which is accessed simply by pressing the Preset switch followed by the LED indication changing from green to red. One user preset is available for each of the eleven sounds.
In addition to the aforementioned Synth Out output, the box also has a Dry Out output (the signal is not affected by driver settings). All pedal electronics are housed in a durable metal chassis. The box works in buffered bypass mode. The power supply is provided by the included 9V adapter.
