The focal point of the pedal effect is the Master Oscillator, which forwards the input signal to other circuits in its original tuning, or one or two octaves lower. The Data Corrupter then performs calculations and generates a synthesized sound in the selected octave (or interval set on the eight-position switch), which is then met with pitch-bend modulation (vibrato and portamento effects), one of eight subharmonic intervals, and finally a square wave fuzz. There's no point in speculating what it might sound like, these things need to be tried.
The guitar effect switch offers a momentary function in addition to the classic latch on/off mode, the effect is only active while the switch is pressed. The pedal is wired as a true bypass (relay-based switching, no audio signal passes through without a source). A 9V adapter is used for power supply.
EarthQuaker Devices is a young American crew from Ohio, consisting of about fifty music fanatics and nerds, who together create unique pedal effects. These have already won numerous awards such as "Best in Show" during the NAMM Worldwide trade show and recognition from Guitar World and Premier Guitar magazines. The effects are user-friendly, practical and at the same time sonically revelatory and innovative. The manufacturers place great emphasis on the quality of the materials used and the overall workmanship, so the effects are built entirely by hand and each piece is honestly tested. Most pedals can be used in combination with any instrument from classical guitar to bass guitar to synths or samples. There really are no limits.
