The Deering Goodtime 6 AE Piezo is a six-string electro-acoustic banjo fitted with a piezo pickup. It is one of the so-called open-back instruments, i.e. a banjo without a resonator with an open back plate. Its sound can be used in a wide range of styles from bluegrass, folk to jazz.
The instrument's maple fingerboard is fitted with twenty-two pakfong frets, and position markers make it easy to navigate its surface. An eleven-inch bellows is attached to the maple body by a steel rim. The strings are mounted in high-quality guitar-type tuning machines on one side, and in a nickel-plated steel stringing machine on the other, over a maple/ebony fingerboard.
All Deering instruments (from professional models to the entry-level Goodtime line) are made in Spring Valley, California, USA by skilled craftsmen. Here, each piece is given the same care and attention to meet strict quality standards.
