The MR series is Cort's higher quality electro-acoustic guitar series, offering popular dreadnought design, modern features and the ability to sound with quality electronics - all at a very affordable price.

The body of this guitar is composed of a solid Sitka spruce soundboard, a solid mahogany backboard and overlaid mahogany sides. This proven combination of woods provides the instrument with a balanced sound with the necessary amount of tonal clarity and warmth, and the solid front and back board will make the instrument sound better as the years go by.

The mahogany neck is glued to an ovangkol fingerboard with twenty frets and positioning dots make it easy to navigate. The lower cutout of the body (Venetian) offers a good match even at higher fretboard positions. The natural acoustic resonance of the wood is enhanced by reduced X ribbing (Advanced Scalloped X) and a thin layer of UV lacquer.

Good sustain and tuning stability are guaranteed by the anchoring of the strings through the saddle and zero frets made of real buffalo bone in Grover gears with 18:1 gear ratio and an ovangkol headstock. Traditional design elements are complemented by an ornate rosette composed of a wooden ring (pau ferro) and two mother-of-pearl ones (Abalone), a bright binding and a pickguard made of imitation tortoiseshell.

The instrument's sound system is provided by a Fishman Matrix sub-coil piezo pickup and Fishman Prefix active electronics with four-band equalizer, volume control, anti-feedback functions (Phase, Notch) and integrated tuner.
