That's why Alesis uses dense MDF wood in the construction of its cabinets, which helps produce a tighter, cleaner sound with thicker bass. The five-inch driver and silk-dome tweeter provide a balanced presentation of all frequencies in the 56 Hz to 20 kHz range, but if you need more punchy lower frequencies the cabinet is equipped with a bass-boost switch. The front panel is fitted with a headphone output and a simple volume control.
