The Akai EWI Solo Wind Synthesizer is a musical instrument suitable for musicians of all levels. It combines the expressive sound and control capabilities of traditional acoustic wind instruments with modern technology. Powered by a rechargeable li-ion battery and built-in speaker, you can play whenever inspiration strikes (the battery offers over 12 hours of operation on a single charge).
The sound of the instrument starts at the highly sensitive pressure sensor (the instrument's mouthpiece). In addition, brass and woodwind players don't have to learn new techniques - switch settings to change the fingering to match a transverse flute, oboe, saxophone or EVI (electronic piston instrument).
The 200-sound database offers everything from rich synth pad textures to brass and woodwind sounds. In addition to an extensive sound bank, the Akai EWI Solo offers sound editing and storage, an Aux In input for external audio sources, a line output to connect the synthesizer to a keyboard, PA system or sound card, a headphone output and a USB port to connect the synthesizer to a DAW on your computer/laptop. The USB port is also used to charge the synthesizer's batteries.
