The combination of a solid spruce soundboard with an equally solid back and sides made of genuine mahogany (the wood of the Swietenia family of trees - Honduran, American/Cuban or Mexican mahogany) gives the guitar a rich, clear tone with a balanced balance of tonal clarity and warmth. The guitar's good acoustic properties are accentuated by the lowered X-ribs (Scalloped Forward-Shifted X-Brace) of the soundboard. The mahogany neck, which is attached to the body at the fourteenth fret as standard, is glued to an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by pearl (Abalone) position markers. Precise tuning and good sustain are guaranteed by the fit of the strings through the compensated saddle and the bone zero fret in the nickel open mechanism and ebony headstock. The stylish look of the instrument is accentuated by a rosette composed of black and white rings and a pickguard made of imitation tortoiseshell, which also protects the guitar's lacquer from scratches.
