IBANEZ ACFS580CE-OPS (opened)

The ACFS580CE-OPS electroacoustic guitar is part of the Artwood Fingerstyle Collection series by Japanese brand Ibanez, dedicated to guitarists who prefer fingerstyle playing. Every detail of these instruments is engineered to suit the widest range of playing styles - from classic fingerstyle technique to modern percussive playing.

The front of this model, with its more compact Grand Concert body, is made from solid Alpine spruce, while the back and sides are also made from solid pau ferro, a wood visually similar to rosewood. These choice solid materials combined with the deeper body and reduced Scalloped X ribbing give the instrument a clear dynamic sound balanced across the entire frequency spectrum. Thanks to the stable five-piece mahogany and pau ferro neck construction, you can safely use a variety of alternative tunings, while the narrower "C" neck profile and foot shape also contribute to maximum playing comfort. The thin Open Pore finish enhances the texture of the woods and their acoustic properties.

Tuning stability and good sustain are guaranteed by the fit of the strings through the unbleached impregnated bone saddle and zero fret in the Gotoh 18:1 gears and ebony fingerboard. The refined look of the instrument is accentuated by the figured maple body binding, a decorative rosette composed of mother-of-pearl (Abalone) and pau ferro wood rings, and ebony pegs in the fingerboard with mother-of-pearl dots.

The Ibanez DP1's active electronics use a combination of T-bar underbody piezo pickup and a feedback-resistant contact pickup to evenly capture percussive body and neck sounds. The mix of pickups in the resulting sound is easily adjusted with two volume controls (one for each pickup) installed in the guitar's backside. Thanks to the two instrument outputs (6.3 mm jack), you can also send the sound of the piezo and contact pickups separately to two different instruments (Endpin jack - piezo, Open jack - contact). When connected only via the endpin jack you get the signal from both pickups.
