The Gretsch G5420T-140 EMTC 140TH SC HLW from the Electromatic series is part of the 140th Anniversary special edition launched to celebrate 140 years since the brand's founding (1883). It features a single-cut design body made of laminated maple. A maple neck with Classic "C" profile is glued to a fig fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets. Position blocks made of imitation mother-of-pearl facilitate orientation on its surface.
Two FT-5E Filter'Tron humbuckers give the guitar a full, punchy sound with excellent articulation of individual notes and chords. You adjust its character with two volume potentiometers (for each pickup separately), a tone shutter and an overall volume control with Treble Bleed circuit (allowing you to pull down the Master Volume without boosting the bass frequencies).
Precise tuning is guaranteed by the strings' attachment via a Graphtech NuBone zero fret in the company's vintage-style open drive and via an Adjusto-Matic tailpiece seated on a figwood base in a licensed Bigsby B70 tremolo. The instrument's stylish design is accentuated by a spectacular 2-Tone Pearl Platinum over Stone Platinum finish, chrome hardware and a Stone Platinum Plexi pickguard with the Gretsch logo.
