Epiphone Electric Guitars presents the Epiphone Prophecy line, turning to the present instead of the past, offering modern instruments that embrace the year of manufacture and trends in guitar design in classic LP, SG, Flying and Extura/Explorer body designs.
The Jerry Cantrell Prophecy Les Paul Custom was made to the specifications of Jerry Cantrell, guitarist for the American band Alice in Chains. The guitar's mahogany body and maple top are decorated with a Bone White finish and double-sided perimeter binding. More modern features catering to the playing comfort of guitarists are represented by the Ultra Modern Weight Relief.
Glued to the mahogany neck is an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-four jumbo-sized frets. Orientation around the fingerboard surface is facilitated by position markers in the Circle in Diamond design.
The custom-made Fishman Fluence humbuckers offer three different sound settings - the warm tone of vintage humbuckers ideal for classic rock/blues, the modern sound of active humbuckers with higher output signal, and the optimized sound of single-coil pickups. Switch between modes using the volume and tone controls with push/pull functions (Volume - coil-split, Tone - voicing).
The strings are anchored via a Graphtech zero fret in Grover Locking Rotomatics locking mechanisms and a LockTone TOM tailpiece and strings. Nice workmanship is accentuated by the perimeter banding of the body, neck and fingerboard, brushed nickel hardware and the JJ logo on the back of the headstock.
