Designed in the USA, the Paramount series features full-mass acoustic guitars with many references to famous instruments from the 1960s. The PD-220E is a dreadnought electroacoustic guitar with an all-acoustic body. The resonance of the top is enhanced by the reduced X ribbing (Quartersawn Scalloped "X").
The mahogany neck is glued to an ovangkol fingerboard fitted with twenty frets. Position markers made of imitation mother-of-pearl in a snowflake design make it easy to navigate the fingerboard surface. The strings are anchored by open nickel mechanics and an ovangkol fingerboard over a bone fretboard and saddle. The guitar's stylish design is accentuated by the Aged White body, fingerboard and headstock binding, decorative rosette and pickguard in 1930s and 1940s designs (Feathered Checkered), black pickguard and Aged Cognac Burst finish.
High-quality acoustic sound reinforcement is provided by Fender/Fishman Sonitone Plus electronics, which use a combination of under-neck piezo pickup and body sensor. Volume and piezo/body sensor sensing ratio are adjusted by a control in the instrument's soundhole.
The guitar comes in a case.
