The body of the AS93FM-AYS semi-hollowbody model is made of laminated flamed maple. A three-piece maple and exotic nyatoh wood neck is glued to a Makassar ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Medium-sized frets. Position blocks made of imitation mother-of-pearl facilitate orientation on the fingerboard surface.
Super 58 humbuckers with Alnico magnets and a milder output signal offer a beautifully warm vintage tone that will stand out in jazz and other genres. For better sustain and to eliminate the feedback effect, the pickups of the AS models are attached directly to the center block. The character of the sound can be adjusted using the volume and tone shutter potentiometers.
Tuning stability and good sustain are guaranteed by the anchoring of the strings in the company's Gibraltar Performer mechanics and Quick Change III stringers. The stylish look is accentuated by the cream trim on the body, fingerboard and headstock, the imitation tortoiseshell pickguard, gold hardware and Antique Yellow Sunburst finish.
