The Gold Tone AC-4 tenor banjo is an affordable instrument suitable for beginner banjo players of all ages, made of durable composite and classical materials, but more experienced players should not be discouraged - Gold Tone banjos were a hit at the American NAMM music fair a few years ago.
It's an open-back banjo with a body made of composite material, which makes the instrument only slightly heavier than the case it comes in. An 11-inch Remo LC Smooth bellows is attached to the body by a tensioning system. The neck is made of nato wood, and the rosewood fingerboard surface is divided by nineteen frets. The strings are mounted in closed guitar-type mechanisms and over a maple and ebony fingerboard in a vintage design.
