In the case of the Paranormal Toronado electric guitar, it's a revival of an offset concept from 1998 that was a hit with the alternative rock scene. The guitar's poplar body is covered with a glossy polyurethane lacquer. The bolted maple neck with a C profile is glued to a fig fingerboard with twenty-two Narrow Tall frets. The fingerboard surface orientation is facilitated by imitation mother-of-pearl position dots.
Two Squier Atomic humbuckers give the guitar a modern, solid sound without unwanted hum. The character of the sound can be adjusted with two volume potentiometers, two tone controls and a three-position pickup switch. The strings are mounted in the company's vintage-style tuning machines and a cob with six saddles and string anchoring through the body. The guitar's stylish look is accentuated by a four-ply imitation tortoiseshell pickguard, chrome hardware and the Squier logo on the headstock.
