The Tanglewood Discovery DBT SFCE PW is an electro-acoustic guitar of the "Super Folk" type, i.e. an instrument with a narrower and shallower body than, for example, the Dreadnought. The front of the guitar is made of laminated Himalayan spruce, while the back and sides are made of overlaid figured walnut, whose grain contrasts beautifully with the spruce top. The neck is attached to the body at the fourteenth fret, the fingerboard surface made of composite material in ebony decor is divided by twenty frets and orientation position dots. A lower body cut-out facilitates the touch on the higher positions of the fingerboard.
Sound reinforcement is provided by the company's TW EX-4 preamp with four-band equalizer and integrated tuner. Strings are held in chrome die-cast mechanisms and a black walnut fingerboard.
