A master instrument from the workshop of Petr Rácz from Luby, a town in West Bohemia with a rich violin-making tradition. Since 1994 he has been building master instruments under his own name and cooperating with the Akord Kvint studio. He perfected his violin making skills with the help of master violin makers Jan Poetzel, Arpad Šivak, Michael van Berkum and Eduard Schwen. He took part in violin competitions in Mittenwald, Germany, Cremona, Italy, and also at home in Náchod, Czech Republic, where he gained new experience. He consults the tonal quality of his violins, violas and cellos with professors of the Prague Conservatory and members of the Dvořák Quartet. His masterful instruments have taken root all over the world. In the Czech Republic his instrument is played by violinist Anna Skálová, Jan Macečko, Jakub Junek, Markéta Dominikusová and other great young musicians. Since 2008 he has been a member of the Circle of Violin Artists.
He builds his masterpieces by hand according to old technologies and the production of one piece takes approximately three months. The top, bottom plate and neck are completely hand-finished. The material used is 30-year-old naturally dried material, Italian spruce, Bosnian maple, ebony and boxwood. The varnish is based on a 90 year old Italian recipe.
