The layered body of the AEG5012-BKH 12-string guitar is made of spruce front and okoumé back and sides. Glued to the nyatoh wood neck is a figwood fingerboard fitted with twenty frets. The lower body cutaway offers a good match even at the highest positions of the fingerboard, with white position dots making it easy to navigate.
Sufficient volume for the needs of public performance or playing with a band is provided by Ibanez AEQ-TTS electronics with an integrated tuner built into the guitar's bellows and an underblock piezo pickup. The strings are housed in chrome Die-Cast tuning machines and a figwood fingerboard. Ibanez Advantage pegs offer the benefits of easy handling and a firm string attachment over standard models. The instrument's austere design is enhanced by a black and white trim and rosette with imitation mother-of-pearl rings that contrast with the body colour scheme.
