The front of the guitar is made of veneered maple, while the sides and back are made of ply catalpa. A composite fingerboard is glued to the mahogany neck with adjustable bracing. Orientation on its surface is traditionally facilitated by position markers. The resonance of the body is supported by the reduced quarter sawn Sitka spruce ribbing.
Sound pickup and amplification is taken care of by a sub-coil piezo pickup and a Barcus Berry preamp with active equalizer, which also includes a built-in tuner. The strings are mounted in die-cast chrome mechanics. The nice workmanship is accentuated by the glossy finish and color treatment of the Ice Tea Burst top, multi-layer binding, imitation mother-of-pearl rosette and logo on the headstock.
The American company Washburn has been making acoustic instruments for a really long time - since 1883. In that time, it has created countless guitars, mandolins, banjos and has accumulated a wealth of experience.
