Z-Tone features the same circuitry as the award-winning AXE I/O preamplifier and offers Pure and JFET channels. The Pure channel is a transparent preamp that will not color your sound in any way. The JFET uses Class A JFET amplifiers to sharpen the midrange and add characteristic warmth.
Patented variable impedance
The Z-Tone Direct Box has a patented variable impedance driver. Adjustable impedance ranging from 1 MOhm to 2.2 Ohms offers unique saturation options. From a clean, clear signal, to a saturated, rich heavily saturated sound.
Useful output options
The Z-Tone output features a balanced XLR output with a lift/ground switch to reduce ground loop noise. There is also an unbalanced 1/4" jack output for added flexibility. You can also use the 1/4" Link output on the front panel for additional connections to effects and amplifiers, allowing you to record clean DI tracks simultaneously with the sound of your amp and effects boxes - very useful in the studio and on stage, where you can mix the clean signal with your instrument's end signal.
