This bass is the signature model of David Ellefson, bassist of Megadeth, and was released on the 30th anniversary of the release of their album Rust in Peace.
The body of this bass is made of poplar. The maple (quartersawn) through-neck is great for fast playing. The figured fig fingerboard is also suited to this, with a compound radius that flattens towards the body. There are 21 jumbo frets. The typical pearl shark fins serve to orient the fingerboard. The gauge of the instrument is 864 mm. The width of the zero fret is 41.3 mm.
The strings are anchored in a solid Jackson HiMass headstock, which naturally accentuates the attack and sustain of the tone. Sealed die cast mechanics ensure reliable tuning.
Sound pickup is handled by two humbuckers from the renowned EMG company, which can be switched with a three-position switch. The bass features active electronics with a two-band equalizer and volume control.
Jackson basses have everything you need to ensure your band doesn't lack a solid foundation. They feature a stylish look with a typical Jackson headstock and, above all, a sound that will have everyone knowing you from a mile away.
