Cort's KX series is a more affordable electric guitar with a modern design that is sure to appeal to many young talented shredders.
The KX300 Etched EBG model catches the eye at first glance with the wood grain of the 15mm wide solid sandblasted swamp ash top, with the open pore finish accentuated by the Etched Black Gold colour scheme. A Canadian maple neck is bolted to the mahogany body. Twenty-four frets and raindrop-shaped position markers divide the pau ferro fingerboard surface.
Two high-output EMG RetroActive Super77 humbuckers give the guitar an aggressive, massive sound ideal for contemporary metal styles and related genres - a bright, articulate sound on thick wires and cool, sing-songy highs on thin strings for guitar solos. The character of the sound can be adjusted using the standard volume and tone controls and the three-position switch.
The strings are anchored in the company's Die-Cast tuning machines and in a solid fingerboard (six separate stones) and through the body of the instrument. The stylish look is accentuated by Black Nickel hardware.
