The front of the Orchestra OM Sitka/Claro Walnut model is made from Sitka spruce in Master Grade, while the back and sides are made from Claro walnut with the characteristic wavy wood grain. The Full-Pore High-Gloss finish, a full-pore, high-gloss lacquer finish, improves the acoustic properties of the guitars, provides excellent surface protection and enhances the natural texture of the wood. The Furch CNR System's two-way neck bracing adds strength, stability and durability.
The guitar's refined look is enhanced by the black walnut decorative elements - body, fingerboard and headstock binding with white contrasting lines, black walnut rosette, front plate decoration with black and white lines, centre strip with white contrasting lines on both sides and end block decoration. The transparent pickguard lets the natural grain of the wood stand out while not affecting the resonance of the soundboard. Orientation on the ebony fingerboard is facilitated by decorative mother-of-pearl position markers and side mother-of-pearl dots. Stable tuning is guaranteed by high-quality Gotoh 510 Nickel patina mechanics with ebony pegs.
The active electronics of the L. R. Baggs Anthem use a combination of microphone sound sensing (patented Tru.Mic technology) and a sub-column pickup, which guarantees authentic reproduction of the instrument's acoustic sound and low microphonics, i.e. susceptibility to feedback. The controls are discreetly housed in the instrument's soundhole.
The guitar comes in a luxurious moulded case with Schaller strap locks in gold finish.
Few Czech products have the worldwide reputation of Furch guitars. The company started in 1981 in one of the many garages of socialist Czechoslovakia, still illegal at the time. Today, the company's acoustic guitars are played by Suzanne Vega, Glen Hansard, David Knopfler, Aneta Langerová, David Koller, Xavier Baumaxa and many others. Furch guitars are best advertised by their reputation.
