SIGMA GUITARS DM12-SG5

The Sigma DM12-SG5 is a semi-massive twelve-string electro-acoustic guitar in the popular Dreadnought shape from the SG series. The instruments in this series draw inspiration from Gibson's famous acoustic guitars, in this case the Gibson Hummingbird.

The front of the guitar is made from solid Sitka spruce, while the back and sides are made from overlaid mahogany. This frequently used combination gives the guitar a balanced balance of clarity and warmth. The mahogany neck is glued to a Micarta composite fingerboard with 20 frets, and orientation across its surface is facilitated by parallelogram-shaped position blocks.

The guitar's sound system is provided by a Fishman Sonitone preamp with controls in the instrument's soundboard and a Fishman Sonicore subwoofer. The strings are mounted in the company's chrome Mini Die-Cast tuning machines and in a Micarta headstock. The zero fret and compensated bone saddle ensure ideal vibration transfer of the strings. The guitar's stylish look is accentuated by the gloss lacquer top and Vintage Cherry Sunburst finish, a pickguard adorned with the graphic motifs familiar from the Hummingbird model, white body binding complemented by black lines and the logo on the headstock.
