The body of the RG421HPFM-BRG is made from nyatoh wood and a spectacular veneer top made from figured maple. Glued to the fast maple neck with Wizard III profile is a fingerboard made of jatoba, a wood also known as Brazilian cherry, fitted with twenty-four jumbo-sized frets. The heat treatment of the maple neck enhances its characteristics while giving the guitar the look and feel of a mature/played instrument. White position and side luminescent dots make it easy to navigate the fingerboard surface.
The combination of two passive humbuckers from the respected Di-Marzio brand with Alnico magnets, a high output tailpiece and a milder neck, gives the guitar a clean dynamic sound with good articulation suitable for aggressive metal styles. In addition to the standard controls (volume, tone shutter, three-position toggle switch), the guitar offers a coil-tap switch that changes the character of the humbucker to single-coil in seconds.
Tuning stability is guaranteed by the attachment of the strings in the company's mechanics and a solid F106 bridge with string anchorage through the body. The guitar's stylish look is accentuated by a nice Blue Reef Gradation finish and gold hardware.
Guitars with the Standard designation are the entry-level line of the Ibanez brand. These are affordable instruments that appeal to beginners and experienced players alike with their quality craftsmanship, sound and playability.
