The laminated body of the AEG7MH-OPN is made from African sapele, a wood similar in visual and performance characteristics to real mahogany. A purpleheart/amaranth fingerboard with 20 frets is glued to an okoumé neck. The lower cutout of the body offers a good match even on the highest positions of the fingerboard, orientation on its surface is facilitated by white position dots.
Sufficient volume for the needs of public performance or playing with a band is provided by Ibanez AEQ-2T electronics with an integrated tuner built into the guitar's bellows and an underblock piezo pickup. The strings are housed in chrome Die-Cast tuning machines and a purpleheart fingerboard. Ibanez Advantage pegs in the headstock offer advantages over standard models in terms of ease of handling and firm string attachment.
