The D'Angelico Excel Gramercy is a semi-massive electro-acoustic guitar in the popular Grand Auditorium shape that will delight you with its beautiful design and warm, balanced tone. You will appreciate the acoustic qualities of this instrument when playing with a pick and finger technique.
The front of the guitar is made of solid Sitka spruce, while the back and sides are made of laminated macassar stained ebony with a distinctive wood grain. The good acoustic properties of the guitar are supported by the reduced X ribbing (Scalloped X). The mahogany neck with a narrower Slim C profile is glued to an ebony fingerboard fitted with 20 frets. Positioning blocks made of imitation mother-of-pearl and side dots facilitate orientation on its surface.
The body of the guitar is balanced by a headstock in the traditional shape of D'Angelico instruments, decorated with a mother-of-pearl company logo. The strings are held in the aforementioned company's gold-finished mechanics and ebony fingerboard over the bone saddle and fretboard. The noble look of the instrument is accentuated by a rosette composed of pearl (Abalone) and ABS rings, cream body and fingerboard binding complemented by black lines or ebony pegs for the fingerboard with pearl dots.
The Fishman Presys+ electronics with integrated tuner guarantee a high quality acoustic sound. The preamp built into the back of the guitar offers, in addition to the aforementioned tuner, a three-band equalizer, a volume control and practical functions (Notch, Brilliance, Phase) to eliminate all the distractions associated with the amplification of acoustic instruments.
