The Pro series of the American brand Jackson represents professional quality electric guitars designed for professional players and the general music public. In addition, instruments with typical company design, quality workmanship and great playing characteristics can still be purchased at a price that won't break your budget. Specifically, the Shadowcaster model with its original offset body shape is the signature model of Rob Caggiano, the current solo guitarist of the Danish heavy metal/rockabilly band Volbeat, also known for his work with thrash metal legend Anthrax.

The offset body shape of the instrument draws inspiration from the design of Jackson Outcaster guitars produced in the 1990s. The body itself is made of mahogany. An ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-four jumbo-sized frets is glued to a bolt-on maple neck with graphite bracing. Its radius flattens towards the body - allowing both comfortable riffing at the zero fret and comfortable ultra-fast shred at higher positions.

The combination of two DiMarzio humbuckers, a high output signature Rob Caggiano pickup and an Air Norton neck with Alnico V magnets and a more moderate output, gives the guitar a great dynamic sound with great sustain and precise tone articulation. The guitar can be used beyond the confines of the hard and heavy genres. Volume potentiometers, tone shutters and a five-position pickup switch are used to adjust the sound, which offers, in addition to the standard settings in positions 1 and 5, a pure single-coil sound of the inner and outer humbucker coils in positions 2 (cob outer, neck inner), 3 (cob inner, neck outer) in series and position 4 in parallel.

The strings are anchored in the company's locking mechanics and adjustable Jackson TOM-Style fixed tailpiece and stringers. The instrument's original design is accentuated by the Purple Metallic color scheme and chrome hardware.

For several decades, electric guitars of the American brand Jackson have been appealing primarily to musicians from metal, metal/core, HC or djent bands professing a loud sound with a more or less diluted dose of aggression, as evidenced by the company's list of players. However, the radical metal design can also enchant adventurous musicians from the completely opposite musical spectrum, as evidenced, for example, by Nai Palm of Hiatus Kaiyote, who in turn clearly prove that the sound of Jackson instruments can make its way into genres built on a clean, warm, sound.
