ENGL Savage 60 MKII

The new generation of Engl Savage full-range hi-gain amplifiers with 120 watts of power is accompanied by the Engl Savage 60 Mark II E630/2 with half the power. These are essentially identical amplifiers, differing in power output and, in the case of the 60-watt model, in the fitment of the EL34 tubes to the end amplifier.

Compared to the older, no longer in production, Savage 60 models, the amplifier has a more elegant look and offers a completely different control design, replacing the austere single-row with a double-row with many switches (similar to the Savage 120 Mark II E610/2). This will appeal to "tweakers" who like to play with the sound and settings of their instruments, and to guitarists who want to be in full control of the final guitar tone without the aid of external effects pedals. This doesn't mean, however, that you're in for a lengthy twist of the knob before you achieve any reasonable sound - all the knobs do is shape the basic tone of the amp and give it other colours to choose from, i.e. you're more likely to be deciding whether a good sound can be very good or even better. The built-in Noise Gate (missing from the original version) also has an effect on the sound quality.

The Engl Savage Mark is rightly regarded as the ultimate metal machine, and the new version is no different, but of course it offers clinically clean tones and everything in between, in addition to sharpened, thick hi-gain sounds. If you're into the clean, clearly defined tone of Engl instruments, then you'll be supremely satisfied.

The rear panel of the amp offers two effects loops for integrating your favourite boxes, each with selectable parallel and serial connections, outputs to external speakers (1x 4, 2x 8, 1x 8, 2x 16, 1x 16 ohm), a line out, MIDI In/Tru jacks with MIDI switch inputs and inputs for standard footswitches.
