This electric guitar from the Japanese brand Ibanez is the signature model of the famous guitar wizard Steve Vai. It has clear hallmarks in the form of a monkey grip cutout in the body and a pearl Tree-of-life fingerboard decoration that you will instantly associate with this personality.
The body of the guitar is made of alder. An ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-four jumbo-sized frets with premium fret edge treatment for greater playing comfort (Premium fret edge treatment) is glued to a bolt-on neck composed of five pieces of maple and walnut with a thin and fast Wizard profile.
The combination of three DiMarzio Evolution pickups, i.e. two humbuckers and a center single, designed exactly to Steve Vai's liking, gives the guitar a full-bodied, punchy and really loud sound ideal for his expressive playing style. Experienced guitar tamers with refined technique will be delighted, while novice players will find the Evolution pickups a challenge as they don't forgive anything. Standard sound adjustments include volume potentiometers, tone controls and a five-position pickup switch.
Tuning stability is guaranteed by the string attachment in the Gotoh mechanics and in the Edge double-turn tremolo, which you use to embellish your playing with impressive sound effects. Locks on the zero fret guarantee tuning stability when using the tremolo lever frequently. The stylish look of the instrument is accentuated by gold hardware and a mother-of-pearl pickguard.
