The Fender Thinline series features a semi-hollow body design, in this case maple, and the typical F cutaway. The maple fingerboard is fitted with twenty-one Narrow Tall frets, and orientation around its surface is traditionally facilitated by black position dots.
The sound of the company's two humbuckers, with authentic Fender character, well illustrates the era of the 1970s, when rock guitarists were swapping single-coil pickups for humbuckers with greater output and fuller sound. Volume potentiometers, tone controls and a three-position pickup switch are used to adjust settings.
Precise tuning and good sustain are ensured by the strings' fit in the period-correct tuning machines and the solid six-saddle, through-body string anchor. The visual aspect of the instrument is suitably complemented by nickel hardware, a four-layer imitation mother-of-pearl pickguard and the company logo on the headstock.
