ESP KH-2 Vintage is a signature model created according to the requirements of Kirk Hammett, solo guitarist of the world famous Metallica. In this case, it is an adaptation of one of Hammett's concert and studio guitars, ESP KH-2, which has already had its "time" - this corresponds to the Distressed Black design imitating the scuffs and scratches of concert instruments and the famous "Caution Hot" and "Kirk's Guitar" stickers.
The body of the guitar itself is made of alder. A three-piece maple neck with a narrow Extra Thin U profile is joined by a rosewood fingerboard fitted with twenty-four Extra Jumbo frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by mother-of-pearl markers with a pirate skull-and-crossbones motif.
Two active EMG humbuckers provide the instrument's sound with the necessary fullness and precise articulation for vocal solos or chord breakdowns, while also providing density and aggression for ultra-fast guitar shred and sharply chiseled rock and metal riffs. Other high quality components used include the original Floyd Rose double reverse tremolo or Gotoh tuning machines. Tuning stability when using the tremolo lever is guaranteed by the locks on the zero fret, which like all hardware are in a stylish black finish.
The guitar comes in a case with a certificate of authenticity.
ESP has been manufacturing electric guitars since 1984 and its satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera.
