ESP Iron Cross is the signature model of James Hetfield, the leader of the world-famous Metallica. The guitar catches the eye at first glance with its maple top with Snow White finish, black stripes and black Iron Cross motif. The body of the instrument itself is made of mahogany. The glued, also mahogany, neck with a narrower Thin U profile is joined by an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Extra Jumbo frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by mother-of-pearl markers with a distinctive iron cross motif on the twelfth fret.
Two active EMG humbuckers provide the instrument's sound with the necessary fullness and precise articulation for vocal solos or chord breakdowns, as well as density and aggression for ultra-fast guitar shred and sharply chiseled rock and metal riffs. Other quality components used include a solid Tonepros Locking TOM headstock and truss rod, Sperzel locking mechanisms and Schaller rolls.
The guitar comes in a case with a certificate of authenticity.
ESP has been manufacturing electric guitars since 1984 and satisfied customers include Kirk Hammet, James Hettfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera.
