ESP Kamikaze is the first ever signature model of the ESP brand. This instrument was used by the guitarist George Lynch, who was a member of the extremely popular glam band Dokken, in the mid-1980s to charm crowds of enthusiastic fans.
At first glance, the guitar already catches the eye with its extravagant design with graphic motifs associated with the kamikaze theme. Its body is made of maple. The maple bolted neck with GL Original U profile is joined by an ebony fingerboard with twenty-two Extra Jumbo frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by pearl position markers.
The specific sound of guitar wizard G. Lynch is defined by two hand-wound Arcane pickups - a single-coil Desert Eagle in the neck position and a Mr. Scary humbucker designed by the master himself. For sonic adjustments, a push/pull volume potentiometer is used to split the humbucker coils and achieve a clean single-coil sound. Other high quality components used include the original Floyd Rose double reverse tremolo or Gotoh tuning machines. Tuning stability when using the tremolo lever is guaranteed by the locks on the zero fret, which, like all hardware, are in a stylish black finish.
The guitar comes in a case with a certificate of authenticity.
ESP has been manufacturing electric guitars since 1984 and its satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera.
