In this particular case, it is the signature model of guitarist Alexi Laih from Finnish metal band Children of Bodom. The guitar catches the eye at first glance with the contrast of its black body and pirate skull and crossbones motif in Lime Green. The body itself is made of alder. A three-piece maple neck with a narrower Thin U profile is joined by an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-four Extra Jumbo frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by mother-of-pearl blocks with a very sharp Sawtooth design.
The guitar's aggressive metal sound is supported by a single EMG passive humbucker with active boost controlled by a mini switch. Other quality components used include the original Floyd Rose double-return tremolo, Gotoh tuning machines and Schaller rolls. Stability of tuning when using the tremolo lever is guaranteed by the locks on the zero fret, which, like all hardware, are in a stylish chrome finish.
The guitar comes in a case with a certificate of authenticity.
ESP has been manufacturing electric guitars since 1984 and its satisfied customers include Kirk Hammet, James Hettfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera.
