A completely accurate replication of the sound of the original groovebox is achieved using Analog Circuit Behavior (ACB) technology. This respects all the details and imperfections of the original, causing uncontrolled fits of endorphin madness in all producers who have gotten their hands on the new TR-08.
There is also a new compressor, gain control, tuning and panning controls that can be used on selected sounds. There are also tone aperture, volume and decay controls for real-time manual tweaking.
The sequencer offers 16 steps as well as sub steps that make it easy to create transitions and breaks. Steps can be written in Step and Tap modes.
Use USB, MIDI or Trigger output with track selection for connectivity; plus 10 separate outputs for all percussion are available via USB.
The TR-08 is very compact, but Roland have housed it in a durable metal chassis, so it's definitely no toy. The built-in battery lasts about 6 hours on a single charge, but you can also power the TR-08 with AA batteries. It even has a built-in speaker so you can take it with you everywhere.
