The body of this instrument is made from chambered silver-leaf maple and a solid Sitka spruce soundboard, making the sound very natural, colourful, balanced and lively. The bolted neck is made of maple and features a rosewood fingerboard with 22 frets. In terms of technical information, the baritone model has a gauge of 705 millimetres, a fingerboard radius of 16 inches and a fret width of 42.8 millimetres.
Godin has used a double pickup system here. Firstly, it is a sub-cubic piezo pickup, which is complemented by a specially developed preamplifier with a volume control and a 3-band equalizer. The second way is a neck-mounted mini-humbucker, designated as the Godin GJN1, which also has volume control and a 2-band EQ. Two outputs are also used, one for a pure electric signal and the other for an acoustic mix.
The instrument's fingerboard is made of rosewood, as is the fingerboard, while the strings on the other side lead into high-quality tuning machines.
The Godin A6 Ultra Baritone is perhaps a bit of an atypical instrument, which makes it offer unprecedented possibilities. Don't hesitate to give it a try.
